Vanguard Theater Company and North Jersey Pride Present “Fierce Feminists: A Pride Drag Show”

originally published: 06/04/2018

(MAPLEWOOD) -- Pride Month and North Jersey Pride kick into high gear when Maplewood/South Orange plays host to North Jersey Pride/Vanguard Theater Company’s Second Annual Drag Show 2018, featuring 8 of the areas most entertaining and uproarious drag queens. Hosted by Instagram personality Princess Jonathan Jordyn (@boylondxn) and executive produced by Vanguard co-founder and independent producer, Daryl L. Stewart, this one night only performance will take place on Friday, June 8, at Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, located at 10 Durand Rd, Maplewood, NJ 07040.

Doors open at 7:30pm; curtain up at 8:00pm. The evening will feature a cash bar with signature themed cocktails as well as a small pop up auction. A portion of the proceeds will benefit charity.

“From Beyonce to Lady Gaga, Madonna to Katy Perry one thing is for sure: women truly do run the world! Our show theme felt like the perfect way to nod to this exciting and powerful time in history. This year our drag queens will celebrate the women who stand for political, economic and social equality. Audience members can expect to see exciting, empowering and show stopping performances that celebrate the power of women, feminism and the roaring spirit of pride and equality.” says producer Daryl L. Stewart.

Tickets start at $35.00 and are available for purchase online via vanguardtheatercompany.org. The show is recommended for mature audiences.
