TV & Film Insiders To Discuss Bringing Back NJ Film & TV Production Tax Credit

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- A panel of policymakers and film / TV industry insiders will discuss bringing back the New Jersey film & television production tax credit and efforts to make incentives comparable or better than those offered by neighboring states on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater in Jersey City. The symposium panel, which begins at 6:30pm, includes Nancy Giles, Loretta Weinberg, Gary E Donatelli, Craig DiBona, Michael Kriaris, Adam Himber, ​​​​​​​Carol Cuddy, Diane Heery, Mark Sokolich, and Doug Pelligrino.

The panel discussion is Co-Sponsored by Fort Lee Film Commission and Golden Door International Film Festival.  The event will be hosted by Tom Meyers. Admission is free.  Register online.

About the Panel:

Panel Moderator Nancy Giles is an American actress and commentator best known for her appearances in the series China Beach and on CBS News Sunday Morning.

New Jersey Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg represents the first American film town of Fort Lee, NJ and is a founding member of the Fort Lee Film Commission. She has been a long time advocate for an aggressive tax credit for film & TV production in NJ.

Gary E Donatelli is Co-Chair of the DGA-PAC Leadership Council, an Emmy Award winning television Director and Producer, and a member of the Fort Lee Film Commission.

Craig DiBona is known for his work on Blue Bloods (2010), Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) and The Godfather: Part III (1990), a member of the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers, and the DGA.

Diane Heery of Heery Loftus Casting, the leading casting company in the Delaware Valley and Winner of the 2013 ARTIOS Award for Excellence in casting and 2013 Primetime EMMY nominee for casting. With over 30 years’ experience providing the entertainment industry with talent, they offer a full range of services for every type of production on the East Coast, with locations in Philadelphia and New York.

Michael Kriaris is a DGA Location Manager known for his work on films like  A Beautiful Mind, American Gangster, The Big Short, Men in Black 3, as well as television shows like Made in New Jersey.

Adam Himber is CCO at Parlay Studios, an award-winning writer, producer and production executive for national and international clients in film, television and photography.

Carol Cuddy is a Producer and Production Manager who has Produced television shows like, Elementary and True Detective, and been Unit Production Manager on films like Rachel Getting Married and The Departed.

Mayor Mark Sokolich of Fort Lee, NJ is well aware of the positive impact of film & TV production as Fort Lee was the recipient of much production until the tax credit was extinguished a few years ago. Law & Order SVU was one of many programs that shot on the streets of Fort Lee thanks to the efforts of the Fort Lee Film Commission.
