“You just have to take the first step.”

Bring your family together for an unforgettable adventure with How to Train Your Dragon! This heartwarming film is not just about dragons—it’s about taking that first step toward understanding, friendship, and bravery.

The story takes place in Berk, a mythical Viking village; Hiccup, an undersized teen wishing to become a dragon slayer like the other Vikings, injures a rare Night Fury dragon but is unable to bring himself to kill it. He instead helps and befriends the dragon, and quickly discovers that things are not exactly as they seem in the conflict between Vikings and dragons.

The film stars the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller, and Kristen Wiig.

“Boasting dazzling animation, a script with surprising dramatic depth, and thrilling 3-D sequences, How to Train Your Dragon soars.” –Rotten Tomatoes

New Jersey Film Festival Fall 2025 Filmmaker Interview with Hearts of Stone Director Tom Van Avermaet

Here is New Jersey Film Festival Fall 2025 Zoom Filmmaker Interview with Hearts of Stone Director Tom Van Avermaet and Festival Director Al Nigrin:

Two

Two amazing shorts screen at Fall 2025 New Jersey Film Festival on Sunday, September 7!

One of the most interesting facets of art is how different artists can choose to represent the same themes based on their experiences in feelings. Oftentimes, subjects or ideas can manifest in different ways for certain artists, creating differences in how they depict them. One may represent a subject through a faster-moving and vibrant work, while another may portray it as gloomy and stoic.  Despite these two depictions being vastly different, they both represent the subject and how the artist connects and views it. Two great examples of this contrast of portrayals within the theme of loss are Martin Gerigk’s Prayer of the Sea and Sasha Alexander Vorobyev’s What a Surprise. These works differ greatly in their story and look, but both experiment with color and shot size to explore the complex theme of loss.

Entrancing

Entrancing Short Anima Magia screens at Fall 2025 New Jersey Film Festival on Sunday, September 7!

An entrancing watch, Anima Magia by Al Nigrin has an opinion. Its rhythms of animal and fatal urges tell a tale of two witches coming into their own, transforming their power and pain into magical will. Images flicking and transferring to other images create a determinant effect of time’s unstoppable movement.
