Sing (Digital Presention)

Sunday, October 05, 2025 @ 3:00pm

Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) - Main Stage
1601 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ 07065

Like the Moon Theater in “Sing”, UCPAC’s Main Stage is a historic theater where families have enjoyed entertainment together since the 1920s. Come make new memories with your loved ones or relive your own when our theater becomes the Moon Theater for one night only! Come sing karaoke in our café and enjoy other immersive surprises during this very special presentation of “Sing!”

“When I was six years old, I saw the most incredible show. And from that moment on, I was hooked. It was like my destiny. Of course, it wasn’t easy. My dad, he worked night and day for thirty years so I could buy this place.” – Buster Moon

Koala Buster Moon’s childhood dream came true, but as a grown-up, he’s on the verge of losing everything he wanted and his father worked so hard for. To save his beloved hometown theater, Buster decides to host a singing competition and attracts a memorable group of contestants: a shy elephant with a powerhouse voice, a punk-rock porcupine, and a soulful gorilla, just to name a few!

Voiced by Matthew McConaughey, Resse Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, and Seth McFarlane, “Sing” is both hilarious and heartfelt and can be enjoyed by kids of all ages, so “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing”- bring the whole gang to see “Sing!”

Two

Two amazing shorts screen at Fall 2025 New Jersey Film Festival on Sunday, September 7!

One of the most interesting facets of art is how different artists can choose to represent the same themes based on their experiences in feelings. Oftentimes, subjects or ideas can manifest in different ways for certain artists, creating differences in how they depict them. One may represent a subject through a faster-moving and vibrant work, while another may portray it as gloomy and stoic.  Despite these two depictions being vastly different, they both represent the subject and how the artist connects and views it. Two great examples of this contrast of portrayals within the theme of loss are Martin Gerigk’s Prayer of the Sea and Sasha Alexander Vorobyev’s What a Surprise. These works differ greatly in their story and look, but both experiment with color and shot size to explore the complex theme of loss.
