Jersey City blues-rocker Debra Devi features three tasty originals on her new “Jamification Station Vol. 1” live EP.
But it’s her jaw-dropping cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic “Crosstown Traffic” that gets the nod as the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Crosstown Traffic” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on July 1 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you also can tune in any time at The Penguin or at Mixcloud.
The EP is culled from “Jamification Station,” Debra’s pandemic-inspired bi-weekly full-band concerts live streaming from drummer John Roccesano's Silver Horse Sound in Hoboken. Her righteously tight band also features Kevin Jones on bass and Martin Schmid on keys.
More is sure to come from the “Jamification Station” archives, but in the meantime, you can enjoy Debra Devi & the Dudes live in person on July 10 with Asbury Park roots Jackson Pines at The Colony in Woodstock, NY, and Aug. 27 with Joe Louis Walker at Haverford Music Festival in Haverford, PA.
