(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- The Company Theatre Group, Inc. presents the Rella Lossy Award-Winning Play What We’re Up Against by Theresa Rebeck. This is The Company’s 20th professional production in Hackensack, and this show features five highly talented company members who all call New Jersey home. Six performances will be held from September 17 to October 2.
What We’re Up Against is a biting comedy by one of today's most acclaimed television and theatre writers. Set in a dysfunctional but competitive architectural firm, the play is a ferocious and juicy comedy that takes an explosive yet insightful look at what it means to be a talented woman in a male-domininated career and what happens when she tires of banging her head against the glass ceiling.
Performances take place on September 17-18, 24-25, and October 1-2 -- Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sunday at 3:30pm. Tickets are $19 at the door or may be purchased online. Please note: Adult language. No one under 16 will be permitted without an adult.
"Theresa Rebeck's Magic premiere is a juicy black comedy" – Variety.

Joe Curran: ProductionFounded in 2007, The Company Theatre Group is a non-profit, professional company of actors, writers, and directors in residence at The Hackensack Cultural Arts Center (39 Broadway) in Hackensack, NJ.
Drawing inspiration from the acclaimed Group Theatre, The Company is dedicated to developing and nurturing artists in an imaginative and safe setting, while at the same time pushing the boundaries of contemporary theatre with its non-choreographed style of production. Like the Group Theatre, The Company creates heightened authentic human behavior on stage. “Life in Fiction” we like to call it. Truly living in the moment. So, no two performances are ever the same.
The Company creates an entertaining environment and a thought-provoking experience where each audience member can feel like a 'fly on the wall', watching the lives and events of real people in real situations unfold and sometimes unravel right before their eyes.
The Hackensack Cultural Arts Center, owned and managed by the Hackensack Recreation and Cultural Department, hosts a variety of artistic events, including theatrical productions, poetry readings, art galas and historical reenactments. The Cultural Arts Center also produces its own programming, including comedy nights and an annual children’s show in December.
