NJPAC Presents Jill Scott

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with Singer and songwriter Jill Scott Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 8:00pm in Prudential Hall.  Scott is a three-time GRAMMY winner for hits including “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat),” performs “Fool’s Gold,” “A Long Walk,” “The Way” and many sensuous R&B favorites. Tickets range from $50 - $125.

Scott is equally acclaimed as a poet and actress (The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency on HBO), Scott starred alongside Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson in Why Did I Get Married? and was featured in Sins of the Mother and Steel Magnolias, both on Lifetime.

Her award-winning albums include The Light of the Sun, Who Is Jill Scott? and others. She is the author of The New York Times bestseller The Moments, The Minutes, The Hours, a compilation of poems. 

New Jersey Performing Arts Center is located at One Center Street in Newark, NJ.

English Opera "Dido and Aeneas" to be performed in Morristown

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- On Saturday, May 4, 2024 at St. Mary's Abbey of Morristown, a musical merger between the Somerset Hills Chorus of Music in the Somerset Hills (MISH) and the Trenton-based LOTUS Chorale is bound to generate an electric performance of Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, one of the first English operas ever written. Showtime is 7:00pm.
