NJPAC Presents Get On Up: A James Brown Celebration!

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Bassist Christian McBride, a passionate James Brown expert, presides over an homage to the Grammy-winning Godfather of Soul in "Get On Up: A James Brown Celebration!" - a special celebration taking place at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Friday, November 18 at 8:00pm. Tickets range from $25 to $79.

This ultra-high-energy, all-star celebration of “The Hardest-Working Man in Show Business,” features Sharon Jones, often called the female James Brown; the dynamic singer and songwriter Bettye LaVette; vocalist Lee Fields; and James Brown Band alumni Pee Wee Ellis on saxophone, emcee Danny “The Cape Man” Ray, Robert “Mousey” Thompson on drums, and Fred Wesley on trombone.  More special guests to be announced in the future.

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) is located at 1 Center Street in Newark, NJ.
