Leonia Chamber Musicians Society to Perform 'By Popular Request' Concert Featuring Franz Schubert Trout Quintet

(LEONIA, NJ) -- The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc. will perform the final concert of their three concert series on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 7:30pm, at All Saints Episcopal Church, located at 150 Park Avenue in Leonia.  The program will feature the frequently requested Franz Schubert Trout Quintet for Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the door for $30 adults, $25 seniors, and students under age 18 will be admitted free.  All Saints Episcopal Church is fully handicapped accessible.  Refreshments will be served after the concert, and the audience will have an opportunity to meet and greet the musicians.

Leonia Chamber Musicians Society members Theresa Norris, flute; Marsha Heller, oboe; Daryl Goldberg, cello; and Pat Dougherty, bass will perform and welcome newly named members Roy Lewis, violin and Maggie Speier, viola.  They will be joined by guest artists Atsuko Sato, bassoon and Steven Masi, piano. This concert will be dedicated to the memory of bassonist William J. Scribner, a longtime Leonia Chamber Musicians member.

The program will blend new and old pieces with two short compositions by living composers Judith Shatin, "Love Song" for Flute and English horn, and "Duako" for Flute and Bassoon by Monte Morganstern.  The concert will also present a performance of the rarely heard Sextet in Eb Major by Luigi Gatti (1740-1817) for English horn, Bassoon, Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass.

The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, welcomes contributions to the organization to continue the tradition of quality concerts at affordable prices in the community.  Donations are tax-deductible as permitted by law.
