(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Lakehouse Music Academy, Asbury Park's progressive music school, will present its annual “Big Gig” at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park for three days of free music from Friday, June 22 through Sunday, June 24th. The “Big Gig” features performances all day long from 65+ bands that rehearse each and every week at Lakehouse Music Academy.

Every Lakehouse Music Academy group receives their own performance time throughout the weekend, with the teenage “Core” groups performing Saturday and Sunday morning/afternoons, the adult “Night Sessions” groups performing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, and the “Cadets” (3 – 5 years) and “Get Started” (6- 10 years) groups performing Saturday and Sunday mornings.
“Every “Big Gig” is special because it’s a giant celebration of the work our students and teachers have been doing all semester long,” says Eric Novod, Director of Education at Lakehouse Music Academy. “This one in particular will feel like a weekend-long music festival. It will feature all of our awesome bands performing all day and night, the “Beat Bus” will be outside of the Wonder Bar for guests to explore, and we will also be honoring Lakehouse’s large class of graduating seniors, many of whom are off to some of the finest music schools in the country. It’s going to be a weekend to remember.”
The weekend will also include many new features that will provide increased excitement and energy to this special “Big Gig”. There will be surprise guests, instrument giveaway contests, a step-and-repeat banner for photo opportunities, and a special fundraising collaboration between Lakehouse Music Academy and the Asbury Park Music Foundation to provide musical opportunities for Asbury Park students through the “Music Saved My Life” youth initiative program.
