East Lynne Theater To Enjoy "Thankful Thursday" at Cold Spring Brewery

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- The Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company is enjoying another "Thankful Thursday" at Cold Spring Brewery on March 8 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Like ELTC's special Thursday last March, there will be free snacks, and the brewery will give ELTC a percentage of the receipts, but this year, there's also live music. The location is 733 Seashore Road, Cape May, at Historic Cold Spring Village.

Raffle tickets will be available for the 2018 Great Escape Vacation: $5 for one ticket or $20 for five. The drawing will be at the theater's November 5 fundraiser at Aleathea's Restaurant, and participants need not be present to win. This year, the "escape" choices are Rome/Tuscany, a Royal Caribbean Cruise, Sonoma/San Francisco, and Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies. The retail value for these trips for two is up to $8,650.

ELTC is also having a 50/50 raffle where the winner can have a "hole" named after him or her - or a business - at ELTC's Cape May National Golf Tournament on Monday, May 21 - and still receive some cash, too. ELTC's staff and trustees will also have information on how to participate in the tournament, from playing to sponsorships. Those who don't play golf, can participate in the after-game dinner.

Also on hand will be 2018 Season Tickets: four for only $90 to be used at any time and in any way. These are offered through March 31. Season tickets are $100 if purchased between April 1 and June 30. The theme for ELTC's exciting season is "Women Reaching for the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars." First up is ELTC's radio-style show, "Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Speckled Band" on March 16 and 17, before it goes on the road. By popular demand, "A Year in the Trenches" returns from May 16-26. A special school matinee is planned for Wednesday, May 23. On Monday, June 4, ELTC is pleased to bring pianist Lillie Gardner to Cape May to play the works of Amy Beach. A world premiere musical revue celebrating the lyrics of Dorothy Fields, takes to the stage in June and July, under the title of one of her songs, "On the Sunny Side of the Street."  The dark comedy about a dysfunctional family, "Arsenic and Old Lace," is in August. Also in August, Patricia Durante performs songs from World War II in “We’ll Meet Again.” In the fall, it's a NJ premiere, "Silent Sky," to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Henrietta Leavitt, the astronomer who provided the key to determining the size of the cosmos.  A special school matinee is planned for Wednesday, October 10. In November, ELTC's radio-style play returns, and "O. Henry's Christmas Tales" is in time for the holidays.

ELTC's educational outreach involves a performance of "The Wizard of Oz" with 5th and 6th grade students at West Cape May Elementary School on Wednesday, March 21 at 6:00 p.m., and the Summer Student Theater Workshop in June and July. Students, ages 10-16, are already signing up for the Workshop, and applications will be available at the brewery.

ELTC's staff and trustees thank Cold Spring Brewery for supporting this 38-year-old theater.  It would be impossible to do what ELTC does, without support from its neighbors. Information about the season and how to become more involved with this unique theater company, will also be available at this Thankful Thursday. For more information visit www.eastlynnetheater.org.
