(FREEHOLD, NJ) -- Center Players, Freehold’s award-winning theater company, continues its 2016-17 season with a production of an original holiday show, “I Do Love the Holidays…. (sometimes),” running December 9 – 18 at Center Playhouse, 35 South St. in downtown Freehold.
Directed by Leslie Hochman, who co-wrote this musical with Dave McGrath, the family-friendly production is the story of three couples and their frustrations preparing for the holiday season. The charming show will feature vignettes and holiday music performed by a 15-member cast of local children and adults.
“’I Do Love the Holidays...(sometimes)’ is an original, funny and slightly wacky view of both Christmas and Chanukah and is a perfect choice for those who are interested in seeing something new, rather than the usual Christmas Carol or Miracle on 34th Street,” noted Hochman. “Many people will certainly relate to this wonderful new take on the holidays during this happy – yet hectic – season.”
Performances run Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. Tickets are priced at $23-$25 (plus a $2 service fee per ticket) and are available online at www.centerplayers.org or by calling 732-462-9093. Season ticket subscriptions are also available by calling the box office by Dec. 18th. Next in the 2016-17 season line-up will be Neil Simon’s “The Dinner Party,” running Feb. 10 – March 5th.
