Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra Presents Annual Holiday Concert'

(PLAINSBORO, NJ) -- The award-winning Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra is presenting its annual Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 7:00pm.  The Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra consists of professional musicians, high-level amateurs, university students, and gifted pre-college students. Its conductor, Ms. Chiu-Tze Lin, is a highly acclaimed musician who has performed around the world and is active throughout the Tri-State Area.

The concert will be held at the Princeton Alliance Church, which is located at 20 Schalks Crossing, on the corner of Scudders Mill Road and Schalks Crossing in Plainsboro, NJ. The concert will feature Mia Huang, an award-winning violinist and concertmaster of the Bravura Youth Orchestra, the prep orchestra of the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra.  Ms. Huang will perform the Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saens.

To celebrate the holiday season, the audience will be invited to join in the ever-popular holiday music Audience sing-along during the concert.  To celebrate the Hannukah season, the orchestra will also perform the music for the Hannukah Season.

The featured soloist, 18-year-old Mia Huang, has been the concertmaster of the Bravura Youth Orchestra for the last two years.   She is a prizewinner in numerous competitions, including the New Jersey Music Teachers Association competition, National League of Performing Arts competition, Cecilian Music Club competition, and the New Jersey State Performance competition of the Music Teachers National Association. Mia has performed in prestigious venues including Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Merkin Concert Hall, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the United Nations. She has also performed in Russia, China, and Taiwan with the Bravura Youth Orchestra, and served as the co-concertmaster of the Russian Chamber Orchestra in Moscow, Russia. Mia is a member of the "Back to Bach" Project, an outreach program that provides peer-to-peer inspiration for young school children.

The program will include an all-time classic for the holiday season, Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. This piece was written originally as music for the ballet.   The orchestra will perform the Polonaise from the Christmas Eve by Rimsky-Korsakov, which is the most popular movement from the opera.
