(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Bayside will bring its The Walking Wounded Tour to the tri-state area with shows in Philadelphia (Trocadero), Asbury Park (Stone Pony), and New York City (Irving Plaza) in September. The tour celebrates the 10th anniversary of their third full-length album with a series of intimate shows.
"The Walking Wounded was a really important record for us both personally and career wise. It was the record that got us back on our feet after our accident and also marked a big breakout for us professionally," lead singer Anthony Raneri explains."It was the first record and touring cycle that we did with the current line up. We felt it was important to celebrate the ten year anniversary of such an important time in our lives."
He adds: "We wanted this to be more of an event. A celebration. So instead of doing the shows on a grand scale, we decided to only do a few of them and scale back the sizes of the venues from where we've been playing for the last few years. We wanted this to feel special for the fans in attendance and for us on stage."
In addition to announcing their upcoming tour, Bayside has also shared a brand new video for their track "Rumspringa (Return To Heartbreak Road)," off the band's latest album Vacancy. About the video, Raneri shares, "I love the 'Rumspringa' video. It is comprised of all footage from our 2016 Fall tour, both live and behind the scenes. I love that I'll always have it as a video yearbook to remind me of the tour and the album release and how much fun we had doing it."
Bayside released their seventh studio album Vacancy on August 19th, 2016. It was written during an uncertain time for Raneri - the end of a relationship and the beginning of a mission of reflection and self-examination - and represents a case study in self-acceptance. He admits those twelve compositions are especially cathartic because he was literally "coming to terms with what my life was becoming."
The Walking Wounded record, released in 2007, marked the punk rock band's first with their newly solidified line up of Anthony Raneri (vocals, guitar), Nick Ghanbarian (bass), Jack O'Shea (guitar), and Chris Guglielmo (drums), and represented a new beginning for the Queens quartet.
