The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center Names Its Two Theaters After Arthur Laurents and Elizabeth Ross Johnson

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC), City of New Brunswick, and George Street Playhouse have announced The Elizabeth Ross Johnson Theater and The Arthur Laurents Theater – named after two George Street Playhouse benefactors. The $7.75 million in gifts, the largest in George Street Playhouse history, strengthens NBPAC as the premier center for the performing arts. NBPAC, a $172 million redevelopment initiative that will transform New Brunswick’s Downtown Cultural Arts District, opens its doors to the public this fall.

The Temptations & The Four Tops To Perform In Asbury Park On May 11

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- As the Musical “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg" opens on Broadway, Asbury Park presents an evening with the musical legends of Motown- See The Temptations and The Four Tops perform live in a special Mother’s Day celebration on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 8:00pm. The magic of Motown will take place at the Paramount Theatre with Grammy Winning legends of classic soul and R&B. The Temptations and Four Tops will perform hit after hit for an evening of elegant harmonies and smooth-stepping moves to their hits including (“My Girl”) and The Four Tops (“Baby, I Need Your Loving”.) 


Rowan Hosts Soprano Jessica Gould and lutenist Nigel North In Guest Recital

(GLASSBORO, NJ) -- Soprano Jessica Gould and lutenist Nigel North share the stage for a guest artist recital presented by the College of Performing Arts at Rowan University on March 27 at 8:00pm in Boyd Recital Hall on the Glassboro campus. Gould and North’s program, entitled Chiaroscuro: Music from the Dawn of the Seicento, includes sacred and secular works by Giulio Caccini, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Vincenzo Galilei, Giovanni Girolamo Kapsberger, Tarquinio Merula, Alessandro Piccinini, Luigi Rossi, Giovanni Felice Sances, Barbara Strozzi, and others from the early 17th century.


Phil Collins to Perform at MSG

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Due to overwhelming demand, a limited run of Phil Collins Still Not Dead Yet, Live! dates have been confirmed for fall 2019. The 15-city limited engagement will kick off September 23rd in Dallas, TX and will head around the country.  Locally, Collins will perform at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, October 6th.


The Oak Ridge Boys LIVE! at BergenPAC

Country music is playing over the loudspeakers inside Englewood, NJ’s BergenPAC auditorium this Thursday, March 7, 2019 as fans enter and take their seats. Before them, the stage is adorned with silver towers holding sets of lights, and projections of different colors can be seen on the walls. A drum kit sits center stage behind four microphones; on the right, there is a set of keyboards and a bass, and on the left, a fiddle, a pedal steel guitar, and a collection of eight acoustic and electric guitars.

Award-Winning Horror Short Film "The Hunted" To Screen At NJ Horror Con and Film Festival

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The horror short film, The Hunted, recently won the award for Best Horror/Thriller at the Brightside Film Festival on March 4th, 2019 at the Brightside Tavern in Jersey City, NJ. The film, written and directed by Jersey filmmaker Giancarlo Orellana, will be screened next at the NJ Horror Con and Film Festival, taking place at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City the weekend of March 29th-31st, 2019. The film screens on Saturday March 30th at 10:52am. Orellana, Albarracin, and Meinders will be at their filmmaker table on the convention floor to promote The Hunted, by recreating the werewolf makeup shown in the film.

Paterson Public Schools Recognized with 2019 ARTS ED NOW Renaissance District Award

(PATERSON, NJ) -- The Paterson Public School district was honored on March 20th with the 2019 ARTS ED NOW Renaissance District award in recognition of their outstanding commitment to arts education for all students. The award was presented by ARTS ED NOW and is only presented when a school district demonstrates extraordinary efforts to provide arts education for every child in the community.The award was accepted by Eileen F. Shafer, M. Ed., Superintendent of Paterson Public Schools, onbehalf of the students, staff, parents, administrators, the Board of Education and community during anArts in Our Schools Month celebration at John F. Kennedy High School.

Monmouth University Hosts Kevin Young

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- The Monmouth University Center for the Arts welcomes Kevin Young —acclaimed poet and editor -- to its campus on Tuesday, April 2 at 4:30pm. Young will be reading excerpts from his work and signing copies in Wilson Auditorium. All readings for the Visiting Writers Series are free and open to the public.
