(PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ) — The Capital Singers of Trenton and Sinfonietta Nova will present a wonderful evening of beautiful music featuring Requiem by John Rutter on Saturday, March 19 at 7:30pm. The concert will be held at Saint David the King Church, 1 New Village Road, Princeton Junction, NJ.
Sinfonietta Nova, led by artistic director and conductor Gail H. Lee, will open the concert with Gustav Holst’s Brook Green Suite and Massenet’s Méditation from Thaïs. Capital Singers’ founding director Richard M. Loatman will conduct the chorus in works that reflect on the Requiem Mass, including chants from the Mass of the Dead. Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs from Handel’s Messiah, To Music by David York, and Finale to the Te Deum by Mark Hayes, as well as arrangements by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw are some of the choral selections. The evening will culminate with the joint performance of Rutter’s Requiem.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 general admission at the door, and $15 for seniors and children under 18. Children under 12 are free. Tickets are available online at www.capitalsingers.org.
