The Porchistas are busy once again for Halloween season with shows in Asbury Park, Stanhope, and their big Halloween bash in Montclair. On Saturday, October 17, the band will hit the stage at the Asbury Park Yacht Club for the first time on a bill that includes the homecoming Accidental Seabirds from a national tour and Virginia's The Dawn Drapes. The Porchistas open the night at 9pm. The show is free admission.
Their second show takes place on Sunday, October 25 when the band performs at The Dog Walk of the Dead at Waterloo Village in Stanhope, NJ. The annual event is a fundraiser for the Randolph Animal Shelter and is hosted by WDHA-FM DJ Terrie Carr. The event runs from 11:00am to 3:00pm (rain or shine) and also features performances by Crash Gordon & Debra Dynamite along with costume contests and a dog walk.
"We played it last year and it was a friggin trip. Hundreds of Dog and people Zombies.This is a FREE event but donations graciously accepted," said Alan "Sucia" Smith of The Porchistas.
Then on Saturday, October 31st, it's time for Tierney's Halloween Bash. Doors open at 8:30pm. The night includes performances by Bone & Marrow (9:15pm), The Porchistas (10:15am), and Randy Haze Trio (11:15pm). Admission is $10 at the door.
"Our Annual Halloween Bash certainly has Zombie-Legs, as it has been a huge ruckus and sold out party the past two years. This year we are bringing back Asbury's psychedelic, folk marriage Bone & Marrow, because, as far as Halloween goes, they really bring the vibe. This year's theme is The End of the World, Ark captain? Preacher? Zombie (killer?) Mad scientist? - Insect? There will be a dance and costume contest with cash and merch prizes.And we are bringing in The Randy Haze Trio to close the night with their badass mix of shredding, funk dance-party originals and covers," added Smith.
Tierney's Tavern is located at 138 Valley Road in Montclair, NJ.
