NJPAC Presents Electric Hot Tuna and Dave Mason

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with two legends in One Show! Electric Hot Tuna, with founders Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady (“Water Song,” “Hesitation Blues”), and Dave Mason, with his band Traffic Jam (“We Just Disagree,” “Only You Know and I Know”), perform a string of hits spanning landmark concerts and albums of the Sixties to today. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 7:30 PM at Prudential Hall.

The sounds of Electric Hot Tuna and Dave Mason’s Traffic Jam together make for an evening of consummate classic rock.

From their days playing together as teenagers, through their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band, Jefferson Airplane, to their current acoustic and electric blues, no one has more consistently led American music for the last 50 years than Kaukonen and Casady, the continuing core members of Electric Hot Tuna. Two things have never changed: They still love to play as much as they did as kids in Washington, D.C., and there are still many exciting miles yet to travel on their musical odyssey.

At 18, Dave Mason teamed up with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood to form the band Traffic, which had a profound effect on rock’n’roll, especially with Mason’s rock anthem, “Feeling Alright.” A producer, singer and songwriter, Mason released many top-selling albums during his solo years following Traffic. His work and career remain linked to other members of rock’s elite, including Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Wonder.
