(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette Sunday, November 30, 2014 8:00 PM in the Prudential Hall. The trio first played together in 1966-68 as members of the Charles Lloyd Quartet, then in 1970 with Miles Davis. With their recording of American standards as a group in 1983, a jazz legend was made.

The group has followed with 15 live concert releases from different cities. Their latest CD is Somewhere, featuring extended versions of Leonard Bernstein's Somewhere and Tonight from West Side Story, along with other standards.

Keith Jarrett
A 2014 NEA Jazz Master, Keith Jarrett has been internationally recognized as a master of jazz and classical piano for the past 50 years. He has written hundreds of pieces for his various jazz groups, plus works for orchestra, soloist and chamber ensemble. While still a teenager, he performed with Art Blakey, Charles Lloyd and Miles Davis. His Melody At Night, With You, released in 1999, has become one of the best-selling jazz CDs of the past decade. Jarrett is also heard performing works by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Arvo Pärt and others in his many classical recordings.

Gary Peacock
Gary Peacock has been an inspiration for several generations of jazz bass players. His ability to bring melodic and rhythmic freedom into any musical setting has been his trademark for 45 years in jazz. He has played with Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, Chick Corea and Sarah Vaughan. Peacock's recent engagements at the Blue Note in New York are captured on the 2012 CD Live at the Blue Note.

Jack DeJohnette
One of the finest drummers in jazz, Jack DeJohnette studied classical music and piano before joining AACM, Chicago's pioneering, avant-garde collective of musicians. He has played with many of jazz's great improvisers, including John Coltrane, Stan Getz and Thelonious Monk, before joining Miles Davis in 1968 to record the jazz-rock fusion album Bitches Brew with John McLaughlin, Chick Corea and Dave Holland. In the 1970s he formed New Directions, followed by Special Edition and most recently the Jack DeJohnette Group, and performed on more than 40 recordings, as a leader or sideman, for ECM Records.
