Featuring classic standards by composers like Cole Porter and Stephen Sondheim, Akers takes audiences beyond the expected with songs by artists like Cyndi Lauper and the songwriting duo of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey. Using upbeat, witty songs to show off her precise comic timing, Akers conversely exhibits a contemplative thoughtfulness in the evening's slower numbers. Called a "warm, funny, vulnerable entertainer" by The New York Times, Akers woos the audience with her poise and charm. "Time Flies" is part of Cape May Stage's acclaimed Second Stage Broadway Series.
