Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova "The Swell Season"
Released in 2006
This was the debut album for The Swell Season (Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová). They were a folk duo that put out a pair of albums in the 2000s. Their voices worked so well together, often creating haunting harmonies. If you like Irish music, you'll likely love this album.
I once had a business trip to Salt Lake City, Utah where I saw the band play the area for the first time following the success of the film "Once" which featured them as struggling musicians in Dublin. The song "Falling Slowly" found on this album won an Academy Award for the film in 2008. The film was a hit at the Sundance Film Festival and they were excited to be back. They gave an amazing performance that night.

The Princeton Festival was first founded in 2004, beginning its inaugural season in 2005 with four performances of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd in the Kirby Theatre at the Lawrenceville School and a performance by the Concordia Chamber Players. It has since grown to a nearly month-long event featuring opera, musical theater, baroque and chamber music, and a constantly evolving selection of other genres, including dance, world music, orchestral pops, and choral concerts.
