U2
"Rattle and Hum"

Released in 1988

U2 is a rock band from Dublin, Ireland that released their first record in 1980. It's fair to say they are one of a handful of bands that literally changed my life.

I was lucky to have a friend who used to grab records from the "import bin" at the record store long before anyone else I knew did. He turned me on to U2 very early on and my love for the band grew with each release.

They are the alt-rock world's equivalent of The Beatles.

This was a unique hybrid live/studio album that included a blues song with B.B. King, a couple of covers, some classic U2 songs reimagined, and several new tracks - very good new tracks. Shortly after the album was released there was a "Rattle and Hum" film in movie theaters.

U2 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
