Mimi Cross is not your typical singer-songwriter. Her music is like a blend of the sound experimention of Kate Bush and the prose of Patti Smith. She lures you in and has the ability to seduce you with her voice. Born in Toronto, but raised in New Jersey; she became a fixture of the Asbury Park music scene in the 2000s. This was her second full-length album and the music is fascinating and combined with her haunting vocals, makes this a brilliant record. It came in at #35 on my list of Top 100 Albums by New Jersey artists from 2001-2010.
