Bongos, The
"Numbers with Wings"

Released in 1983

The Bongos were a power pop band from Hoboken, NJ. The band included Richard Barone, James Mastro, Rob Norris, Frank Giannini. "Numbers with Wings" was their first breakout hit and the video was nominated for Best Direction in a Video at the 1984 MTV Music Video Awards.

I interviewed Richard Barone about The Bongos for my book, Beyond the Palace. That interview is available here. I've also interviewed Richard about his solo work a few times as well.
