Marshall Crenshaw
"Good Evening"

Released in 1989

Marshall Crenshaw is a singer-songwriter from Michigan. He's one of the best power pop songwriters, imo, and he had a bunch of hit songs in the 1980s - smart pop as I called it. Ironically, he was in Beatlemania as John Lennon alongside Glen Burtnick as Paul McCartney. Decades later, Marshall would be one of the lead singers for The Smithereens after Pat DiNizio died. So, he's got some serious Jersey cred as well!
