Jason Shain
"Sooner or Later"

Released in 2004

Jason Shain was an artist based in New York. He released two wonderful indie albums in the 2000s, this was the second of them. While the first was a pure singer-songwriter record, this followup featured a band behind him.

It's always interesting when you hear a band behind someone you're used to seeing perform solo. Songs like "That's All She Wrote" are completely different with a band and might show the way he envisioned the songs in his mind.

This album is full of great tracks from start to finish. After a few years playing in NY and NJ, Jason moved to Nashville and gave it a shot there before I think he became a lawyer. It's nice that he had something to fall back on, but I wish a guy this talented could have found an audience for his music.
