Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
"I Hate Myself for Loving You"

Released in 1988

Joan Jett is a rocker from Pennyslvania who was first seen in The Runaways in the 1970s. A few years after becoming a solo artist, Joan's cover of "I Love Rock and Roll" dominated radio in 1982. She's known as a terrific guitarist and she has a punk rock vibe running through her songs.

This track was a major hit for her. It was also on this tour that I got the chance to work with her at a WNEW concert in Asbury Park.

Joan Jett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
