Fountains of Wayne was a band from New York City named after a lawn ornament store in Wayne, NJ. They were led by Adam Schlesinger and Chris Collingwood who met at college. This was their debut record and songs like "Radiation Vibe" and "Leave the Biker" had tons of airplay on my local station (perhaps due to Schlesinger who grew up in New Jersey). I was instantly a fan.
