John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band
"Eddie and The Cruisers"

Released in 1983

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown band provided the music for the Eddie & the Cruisers film about a popular Jersey Shore band who had a lead singer aiming for greatness. When the record label didn't like the music on their new album, the singer disappeared - faking his death. It contains the classic line "We ain't great. We're just some guys from Jersey."

The film didn't do very well at the box office, but became a cult classic once it was shown on cable tv. By then songs from the soundtrack like "On The Dark Side" and "Tender Years" became hits.

This is an excellent soundtrack for fans of Bruce Springsteen or John Cafferty... and the movie is one of my favorites.
