Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.”

PRODUCTION DATES: July 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19 

Rehearsals: Start on or around May 18 – Mon, Tues, Thur and Sat Evenings

AUDITION INFORMATION

Please prepare 32 bars (60-90 seconds) of a song in the style of the show.

An accompanist will be provided or please bring tracks for your selection. 

Callbacks will take place on April 12. Dance auditions will be at the Callbacks.

We will accept self tape submissions by April 10.  However, you must be available for Callbacks.

 ROLES:

ALL ROLES AVAILABLE:

Ariel – 17-25, Vocal Range: (Ab3-Gb5)  A mermaid and King Triton’s youngest daughter. She is obsessed with everything about the human world, and dreams of becoming a part of life above the water. 

Prince Eric – 20-30, Vocal Range: (B2-G4)  A human monarch who has no interest in taking the crown. A handsome, affable lad with a buoyant, adventurous nature. 

Grimsby – 30-60, Vocal Range: (C3-C4)  Prince Eric’s British guardian. Droll, stuffy, and constantly urging Eric towards his royal duties, specifically marriage.

Flounder – 17-25, Vocal Range: (A2-G4)  A fish and smitten with Ariel, his best friend. Rambunctious but cautious, fearful of the dangers that lurk in and above the water.

Scuttle – 20-40, Vocal Range: (C3-G4)  A disheveled seagull and expert in human artifacts. Loudmouthed, optimistic, and a bit ignorant, despite his supposed expertise.

King Triton – 35-35,Vocal Range: (Ab2-F4)  King of the Sea and Ariel’s father. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature lurks a harried single father who will do anything to protect his daughters. The death of his wife has also given him an irrational fear of humans.

Sebastian – 25-40, Vocal Range: (Bb2-C5)  A Crab and advisor to King Triton. A musical virtuoso who is constantly distraught from keeping after ariel. Despite his paranoia, he can’t bring himself to stand in Ariel’s way.

Flotsam – 20-40, Vocal Range: (E3-C5)  An Eel and one of Ursula’s lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.

Jetsam – 20-40, Vocal Range: (B2-A4)  An Eel and one of Ursula’s lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.

Ursula – 25-45. Vocal Range: (Eb3-C5)  The banished Sea Witch and sister of King Triton. Supposedly spurned at childhood, she will use whatever method necessary to steal the kingdom and claim it as her own. Malevolent, calculating, and deceptive.

Chef Louis – 20-50, Vocal Range: (Bb2-A4)  The French Palace Chef, diabolical and violent. A culinary perfectionist with an affinity for blades, seafood in particular.

Ensemble – 15+  Crew Members (Pilot, Sailors); Sea Creatures; Mersisters (Aquata, Andrina, Arista, Atina, Adella, Allana); Gulls; Maids; Chefs; Animals; Princesses

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- This spring, Arden Children's Theatre invites families into a hilariously twisted world where classic fairy tales don't go quite as expected in its next production of the 2025/26 season, The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales (The Stinky Cheese Man). Based on the beloved book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith, adapted by John Glore, the production brings the book's fractured fairy tales to life for kids and adults alike. Directed by Steve Pacek, the production runs on the Arden’s Arcadia stage with previews starting April 8, opening night on April 18, with performances running through May 31.

(HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Camden County Board of Commissioners, along with Haddon Township, invites residents and visitors to the fourth annual String Band Parade down Haddon Ave, featuring the Philadelphia Mummers String Bands on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. (note: it was rescheduled from April 25th due to the weather)

Hitchcock Meets Hilarious: Bergen County Players presents "The 39 Steps"

(ORADELL, NJ) -- Fresh off being named the top live music or theater venue by 201 Magazine's "Best of Bergen" readers, Bergen County Players (BCP) invites audiences to brace themselves for a whirlwind of espionage and outrageous comedy with the Tony Award-winning The 39 Steps, which runs weekends from May 2-31, 2026. Directed by BCP life member Steve Bell, this breakneck adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 film classic blends film noir suspense with Monty Python-style absurdity.
