Are you a senior (age 55+) in New Jersey eager to connect with your community, share your experiences, and explore your creative side? You won’t want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) proudly presents a unique one-day workshop titled “Stories of a Lifetime Under the Moon.” You will participate in a variety of writing exercises to create a biographical, or fictional, two-minute monologue around your interpretation or favorite memory of the moon. You will learn how to craft an active story through dialogue with professional instructors guiding you.

The four-hour workshop will culminate in a reading of each writer’s story beneath Museum of the Moon, an international touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Museum of the Moon is a 23-foot-wide internally lit moon installation featuring detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface that will be suspended in mid-air inside UCPAC’s Main Stage!

Your journey, your words. Here’s what some of our past participants have said about “Stories of a Lifetime”:

“This workshop pushed me out of my comfort zone (but gently) to help me tell my story that has long been in my heart but never written down.”

“The workshop helped spark wonderful memories and inspired me to write more.”

“The workshop gave me the insight I needed to push from within myself.”

“Knowledge is golden. Sharing is great. We are not alone.”

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the art of storytelling and create a moonlit memory to treasure.
