Chick Corea & Bela Fleck At Mayo
Chick Corea & Bela Fleck enchanted patrons at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown, New Jersey on September 25, 2015. Chick Corea is a renowned jazz composer and pianist with numerous awards to his credit including 22 Grammys. Bela Fleck has redefined the banjo with his approach that is all over the musical map. Bela has 14 Grammys among his many accolades.

Sights and Sounds of Note: July 2015
First up, hard rockers Whitesnake shares their take on the Deep Purple catalogue with the release of The Purple Album (Frontiers Records) featuring remakes from the Mark III and Mark IV lineups when Whitesnake lead singer David Coverdale was a member of the band. This album also marks the debut of heavy metal hero Joel Hoekstra on guitar and backing vocals. His tenure in the group is off to a colorful and powerful start as proven by the record’s 13 blistering and faithfully rendered tracks. It has been written that Coverdale had approached the elusive and reclusive Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore about working on this project together but it wasn’t meant to be.

RECAP: Little River Band at BergenPAC
The Little River Band (LRB) performed at the bergenPAC in Englewood, New Jersey on July 9, 2015. The LRB has many hits to their credit listing "It's a Long Way There," "Help Is on Its Way," "Happy Anniversary," "Reminiscing," "Lady," and "Cool Change" among many others. Controversy lingers around the current version of the Little River Band as there are presently no original members in the group. Bassist Wayne Nelson has been in the LRB for over 30 years and the majority of this line-up has been playing together for more than a decade. However, fans still want to hear those soft rock classics and the Little River Band circa 2015 delivered the goods.

Grateful Dead Say Fare Thee Well via Fathom Events and Global Simulcast
Fathom Events was among a number of media outlets that hosted all three nights of what are now the historic Fare Thee Well - Celebrating 50 Years Of Grateful Dead concerts. Anticipation had been high for months leading up to the July 3-5, 2015 gigs. The performances featured the four original members of The Dead (Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir) with keyboardists Jeff Chimenti and Bruce Hornsby along with Phish frontman Trey Anastasio. SoundPress.net was at the AMC movie theater in Paramus, New Jersey both Friday and Sunday nights to experience the shows on the big-screen in surround sound compliments of Fathom Events.

Musician Keb' Mo' is taking his BLUESAmericana record on the road, which included a tour stop at the bergenPAC in Englewood, New Jersey on June 26, 2015. Per Keb' Mo's website "at its core, the album is about love and understanding. Those qualities are expressed in some of the most poignant and joyfully melodic numbers Keb has ever documented."

Joe D'Urso's Music Festival Turns a Temperamental Two in Tappan
Joe D'Urso presents Rockland-Bergen Music Festival (RBM) celebrated its second year on June 27 and June 28, 2015. The Festival was held at the family friendly German Masonic Park located at 120 Western Highway, Tappan, New York. Founder/musician Joe D'Urso gave birth to the RBM Festival as a one-day affair in 2014 to celebrate his 50th birthday. This year it grew and expanded into a two-day rain or shine event.

GREGORY CHARLES DREAMS BIG as Vintage Live Pops Up in New York City
Musician Gregory Charles has been dreaming big since his was a youngster. Approximately ten years ago Gregory conceived of a concert in which the audience would select the setlist as the show progressed. That concept is Vintage Live - an exclusive and interactive concert experience. The second part of Gregory's vision was to build a custom pop-up theater called the Le Qube to take this show on the road.

Jonatha Brooke Performs In The Burbs
Lucky fans of Jonatha Brooke were treated to a terrific concert on Friday the 13th, 2015 at Outpost In The Burbs in Montclair, New Jersey. Jonatha Brooke is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and writer whose songs have been used in movies and TV shows. Jonatha has also enjoyed a successful solo career with her most recent (2014) one-woman show moving audience from laughter to tears during a critically-acclaimed run on the Great White Way. My Mother Has 4 Noses is a play and album written by Brooke recounting in music and words her relationship with her mother. Songs from My Mother Has 4 Noses along with other originals were presented at Jonatha's concert at the Universalist Congregation at Montclair where she was warmly received by an attentive audience.

February is the shortest month of the calendar year but there is no shortage of new music products to explore. SoundPress.net recently checked out an eclectic stack of new CDs from Dylan Howe, The Mangoes, Richie Kotzen, Smokin' Joe Kubek and Bnois King. We also received the 10th Anniversary CD re-issue of Back Against The Wall a compilation of various artists recreating Pink Floyd's epic album The Wall. The Chord Buddy also arrived at the office. Cold northeastern winter months are the ideal time to start this two month guitar teaching system.

PEPPINO D'AGOSTINO HOUSE CONCERT: It Was a Good Friday in Ringwood
Peppino D'Agostino was born in Italy. In the 1980's he moved to San Francisco, California to pursue a career in music. Peppino is an award winning guitarist who collaborates, composes and sometimes sings. D'Agostino has been called a poet for his memorable melodies. Peppino describes his style as "Minestrone Music" since he melds flavors from classical, ethnic, folk, pop and world into his songs. Peppino has released over a dozen albums along with instructional/performance DVSs. D'Agostino has a new record Penumbra coming out in 2014.

Checking Out the 'Original Music Night' Hosted by John Sheehan
John Sheehan is a singer, songwriter and finger-style guitarist. John who heralds from Ringwood, New Jersey has a number of solo albums to his credit along with a list of songs that have been used as backdrops in videos. Sheehan cites J.S. Bach and John Fahey as some of his many musical influences. In addition to area gigs, John also teaches banjo and guitar.
