Here is a look at shows taking place from January 14-20, 2025 along with our featured listings and a look at some upcoming shows. New Jersey Stage offers previews of concerts throughout the Garden State as well as select shows in New York City and Philadelphia areas. Click on the title to go to the full preview. Jesse Malin to Perform A Featured Set at Light of Day WinterFest 2025. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Light of Day Foundation is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of WinterFest 2025, the annual music festival taking place January 15-25, 2025 in Asbury Park, Red Bank, Montclair, NJ and New York City. Jesse Malin will perform in New Jersey for first time in two years joining an already powerful lineup including John Rzeznik, Brian Fallon, Brian Baker, Pete Steinkopf and LOD stalwarts Dramarama, Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, Willie Nile, Tangiers Blues Band w/ Danny Clinch, The Weeklings, James Maddock, Joe D'Urso, Williams Honor, Adam Ezra and many more.

Friday, January 17 - WBGO presents the return of the All That Jazz series to the Hamilton Stage with smooth jazz musicians Brian Simpson and Jackiem Joyner. (RAHWAY, NJ) -- WBGO presents the return of the All That Jazz series to the Hamilton Stage at Union County Performing Arts Center. This is a unique concert series showcasing some of the genre's most talented and respected performers via a partnership between UCPAC and Smooth Jazz NJ. On Friday, January 17, 2025, the series features smooth jazz musicians Brian Simpson and Jackiem Joyner. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Saturday, January 18 - State Theatre New Jersey presents Freestyle Flashback. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey and Fever Records present Freestyle Flashback 2025, featuring freestyle artists from the '80s and '90s on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 8:00pm.

Sunday, January 19 - MPAC presents Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis returns to Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 7:00pm, with a program entitled Cool School & Hard Bop.

Monday, January 20 - BlowUpRadio.com to Broadcast Rock Against Hate Webathon With New Compilation Albums. New Jersey based Internet radio station BlowUpRadio.com has scheduled a new Rock Against Hate webathon to take place on January 20, 2025, the same day as Donald Trump's second inauguration. Recording artists, the majority New Jersey based, will give live, online performances throughout the day as the station raises funds and awareness for two organizations: Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) and Planned Parenthood.

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Celebrating 40 years of service, Women in Music (WIM) presents its annual Virtual Summit January 15–17, 2025. This three-day global immersive event, includes keynote speaker Martha Earls (Neon Coast), is designed to educate, empower, and advance women and gender-expansive individuals across all facets of the music industry.

Friday, January 17 - Prudential Center presents Cody Johnson with Ashley McBryde and Drew Baldridge. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Platinum selling artist, and five-time 2024 ACM Awards nominee, Cody Johnson, will be touring the country in support of his new album Leather Deluxe Edition. Fresh off his award-winning #1 single, "Dirt Cheap", and the recent release of his duet with Carrie Underwood, "I'm Gonna Love You", Cody's Leather Deluxe Tour will make a stop in Newark on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Prudential Center. Cody will be joined by Grammy Award winner, Ashley McBryde, and rising country super star, Drew Baldridge.

Friday, January 17 - The Newton Theatre presents Pink Talking Fish - a fusion of Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, and Phish. (NEWTON, NJ) -- Pink Talking Fish is a Hybrid Tribute Fusion Act that takes the music from three of the world's most beloved bands and creates a special treat for fans of the music. Check them out when they perform at The Newton Theatre on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 8:00pm.

Friday, January 17 - The Princeton Folk Music Society presents Mari Black. (PRINCETON, NJ) —- The Princeton Folk Music Society presents an evening of virtuosic violin music with multistyle violinist and champion fiddler Mari Black on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Christ Congregation Church. Mari's energetic playing, sparkling stage presence, and dynamic performances have made her a favorite with audiences across the country and around the world. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Saturday, January 18 - SSAAM Presents: Lord, Write My Name – A Gospel Concert Celebrating the African American Experience. (SKILLMAN, NJ) -- The Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum (SSAAM) will ring in the new year with Lord, Write My Name – The Gospel and African American Experience in Spirituals, featuring acclaimed baritone Keith Spencer and award-winning composer Peter Hilliard on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing.

Sunday, January 19 - Brightside Tavern hosts Billy Carrión's Higher Standards Live Showcase on January 19th. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Brightside Tavern hosts Billy Carrión's Higher Standards Live Showcase on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Admission is $10.

Sunday, January 19 - Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey to present Winter Large Ensemble Concert featuring soloist Patrick Williams of The Philadelphia Orchestra. (EWING, NJ) -- The Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey (YOCJ) is pleased to announce its 2025 concert and performance schedule. Kicking off the year will be the Winter Large Ensemble Concert on Sunday, January 19th with YOCJ's Symphonic Orchestra featuring soloist Patrick Williams, associate principal flutist of The Philadelphia Orchestra.

Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey Holiday Pops Concert Features Broadway Star Rachel Potter

Community Chorale Brings Together Kean Students, Alumni and Local Residents

When Director of Choral and Vocal Activities Rachel Carlson began her journey at Kean University four years ago, she envisioned creating stronger connections between the University and the surrounding community. That vision came to life in Spring 2022 with the launch of the Kean Community Chorale, an ensemble that unites students, alumni, faculty, staff and local residents in a shared celebration of music.
