(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Independent record label tHinc. Records will release Soul In Exile Redux, the latest album from The Hesh Inc. on January 28, 2022. The Hesh Inc. is a NJ/NY–based act led by singer-songwriter Heshy Rosenwasser (best known by his online moniker Hesh Meister), performing songs about exile, redemption, beach towns in the off season, and finding one’s place in the world.
tHinc. (pronounced “think”) Records is The Hesh Inc.’s proprietary label, which has put out releases by the artist since 1999.
“Soul In Exile Redux is a Rock album, in the album rock genre, by an artist who still believes in the power of rock’n’roll and albums, for fans of rock music, in a world where such releases are increasingly rare, if not altogether archaic. It is the keystone release of the artist’s magnum opus, designed to put him and his music before newer and wider audiences who may be thirsting for new releases of this style of music,” Rosenwasser says.
Heshy has been an active musician since his high school days, starting his musical journey in Jerusalem, Israel and then making his way through Boston, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles, playing in bands covering a range of styles and genres from Rock to Disco to Reggae to Jewish music.
He has released five albums of original music and has lent his keyboard and vocal skills to various artists in all the above-mentioned styles and locations. He has always considered the Jersey Shore his spiritual and creative center, returning there between and during his sojourns in those other places.
The Hesh Inc. came into being when a 13-year-old Orthodox Jewish kid from Long Beach, NY named Heshy R dropped a quarter into a lucky charm imprinting machine at Lee's Arcade in Convention Hall on the Asbury Park boardwalk. From there it was a series of obstacles in a course consisting of learning in yeshiva, serving in the IDF, getting married and divorced, and moving about a dozen times, all while keeping up songwriting and performing in various capacities. Along the route, Heshy befriended many musicians from diverse genres, which eventually led to stints in rock, blues, reggae, and disco bands that played in clubs throughout the Middle Atlantic area. No stranger to the recording process, Heshy released several albums of original music during this period as well.
Eventually Hesh found himself in LA, where he managed to get some of his music placed in a movie despite his best intentions to avoid ‘the industry,’ but all in all his time on the West Coast was one of turmoil and he ended up back where he started—the beaches and boardwalks of the great northeast.
The Hesh Inc. has eschewed the life of playing other people’s music and scuffling in local clubs in favor of finally recording the music that has filled his notebooks and imagination since that fateful day at Lee’s Arcade.
"I'm doing real good today; it's a beautiful day here in Nashville. I just took a little walk around the neighborhood, the flowers are blooming, it's a no coat day and it looks like we are heading into spring."
