Singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Kate Dressed Up (aka Katie Miller) recently released the vinyl edition of her acclaimed 2022 album, “In Another Lifetime.”
The LP’s “Count the Stars” is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Count the Stars” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 30, on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and Mixcloud.
“‘Count the Stars’ draws heavily on ‘The Little Prince’ by Antoine de St. Exupery, a story about a stranded military pilot who finds a lone child in the desert,” Katie said. “The song captures the cycle of getting lost in the inessential, only to discover -- or maybe never to discover -- that there is something deeper that matters over which we have no control.”

Katie wrote and sings the song and also plays guitar and bass, while Evan Tsioni lays down drums and longtime pal Foxanne contributes flute.
“In Another Lifetime” was produced by SPHMRE, aka Ravi Bhavsar, a DJ turned producer.
See Kate Dressed Up live in Philadelphia on Sept. 30 at Ortlieb's and Nov. 6 at World Cafe Live as she participates in a 50th anniversary tribute to Joni Mitchell’s “Court and Spark” LP.
