Makin Waves Song of the Week: "Big Trouble" by Colossal Street Jam

The Makin Waves Song of the Week is "Big Trouble," the forthcoming single from the upcoming reissue of Colossal Street Jam's "No Way to Live" LP on Fretbar Records. ARTWORK BY GENE POTTS

“Big Trouble” doesn’t release until Aug. 13 through Fretbar Records.

But Colossal Street Jam are playing Aug. 3 at the Wonder Bar in Asbury so New Jersey Stage and The Penguin Rocks have an exclusive to preview so it’s the Makin Waves Song of the Week a wee early.

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Big Trouble” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 2, on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and Mixcloud.

“‘Big Trouble’ is based on how so many people are having issues getting along with one another,” co-founding frontman Gene Potts said. “Whether it's political, religion or just about anything. Friends hating friends over petty disagreements and what they believe to be true. The warning signs are everywhere that we are heading in a bad direction.”

The Wonder Bar bill also will feature Crashing Wayward from Las Vegas, Tyler Tisdale from Mississippi and John Hathaway and Grey Riders from New Jersey. On Aug. 4, Colossal will play a private event in Sea Bright with Crashing Wayward.

Managed by JW Artist Management out of Chicago, Colossal will release another single before the end of the year to coincide with a soon-to-announced fall tour.
