Lizzie Rose Music Room is Running a GoFundMe Campaign Seeking Funding to Reopen It's Doors After Two Years of Outdoor Shows

originally published: 09/24/2022

(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- Since 2014 the Non Profit, volunteer run Lizzie Rose Music Room has been providing its audiences and the music community with a very special, curated selection of artists performing in an intimate setting. The 70 seat room is housed in an historic Victorian era mansion “down the shore”, 30 minutes north of Atlantic City in Tuckerton, NJ. Much like Preservation Hall in New Orleans the focus is music and only music, there is no bar to wait 6 people deep at or food for purchase.

The room has hosted a mix of established, up and coming and fan favorite artists who make it a must play venue including blues artists Selwyn Birchwood, Vanessa Collier, Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials, tribute acts Damn The Torpedos (Tom Petty), Ronstadt Review (Linda Ronstadt) and Bell Bottom Blues (Eric Clapton), plus Victor Wainwright, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Brooks Williams and so many more.

In 2020 when the pandemic hit, like all venues The Lizzie Rose Music Room was forced to shut down. Luckily Founder Lou Reichert was able to secure a 100 seat outdoor location at the Pavilion in the Pines Atlantic Shores Campground in Tuckerton to keep the music going. Now, two years later he is ready to bring the music back inside to its home of 8 years but needs as the Beatles so famously put it “...a little help from my friends”.

As Lou explains: “Right now we are working hard to be able to fund some essential updates. After not being in the room for so long we are basically starting from scratch and have to build a new stage and sound booth, rewire the electrical system, update our sound equipment to digital, and other important improvements we want to be able to provide. The goal is to re-open for live music to start by the third week of October and we have shows scheduled into December."

Lou goes on to say: "We're not here to make a profit. We’re here to champion live music in our community and we need the support now during our GoFundMe running until October 15th. We were very happy to have been able to continue our concerts over the past two years outdoors, we had some excellent artists and now we are looking forward to a grand re-opening of sorts at our original location."
