Hopewell Theater hosts live music Pop-Up with John Abbott on Saturday

(HOPEWELL, NJ) -- Hopewell Theater is hosting an outdoor live music pop-up on August 13 from 6:00pm-7:30pm. The event will be held in HT’s parklet created in the front of 7 W. Broad St. (formerly The Brothers Moon Restaurant) featuring bistro seating and refreshments for sale. Local guitarist John Abbott will perform. The event is free, all ages welcome.

Hopewell Theater will also offer delicious, local ice cream treats from their friends at Owowcow Creamery along with other popular HT concessions for sale.

John (JB or Johnny) Abbott plays jazz, blues, and pop/rock standards. He composes original scores for TV, radio, podcasts, films, and more under Sourland Sounds Music Services, as well as produces recordings on Murphy Boy Records. He is a veteran guitar instructor of ages seven to adult.

A profound believer that musicians should contribute to the community, John plays in benefit shows around New Jersey. He produces and performs in live showcases to benefit causes such as veterans, animal rescue, and more. John formerly served as the volunteer chapter coordinator for Guitars For Vets, a national nonprofit organization providing free guitar lessons for veterans afflicted with PTSD and other distress.

Dedicated to the principle that learning is lifelong, John is a 2021 graduate Magna Cum Laude of the Berklee College of Music and plans to continue formal guitar study. He also holds a master's in education from Rutgers University, and is a member of The Blues Foundation and of BMI.
