Lazlo, founder of BlowUpRadio.com (an online radio station based around New Jersey artists), shines a light on some of the many new releases from NJ based musicians each week with this column. This week Lazlo takes a look at releases by Above the Moon, Fake Pockets, Arlan Feiles, and The Anderson Council.

Above the Moon - "Good Old Friend". "Good Old Friend" is the first single from Above The Moon's forthcoming album, "Mine Again" (due out on June 9th). This is a a rock & roll summer anthem! But don't just rock out to this one, because the lyrics are very relatable (no spoilers here, read the lyrics on their Bandcamp page while you stream the song... or better yet, purchase it to #SupportGoodMusic).

Fake Pockets - "Reverie". Fake Pockets new EP, "Reverie", features infectious power pop songs, with personal lyrics for those who take the time to hear more than just the peppy tunes. In my opinion any of these songs could be a single. Love it!

Arlan Feiles - "Blame Me". The long awaited new album from Arlan Feiles, "Blame Me", is finally out! I say that because I have been sitting on talking about this album since August of 2022 when I was sent an advance of it.

Arlan has been making incredible Americana, Roots, Folk, Rock for a long time now, and I've never been disappointed by his albums, but his latest may in fact be his best to date. It is just an outstanding collection of songs that run the gambit from upbeat and fun, to moving and meaningful.

The Anderson Council - "The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon". The Anderson Council's bio states, "We play Psychpowerpop." They do, and they are masters at it! Their latest album, "The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon", is chock full of memorable songs with infectious hooks. It should be part of the soundtrack to your summer!

That's all for this week.

Remember BlowUpRadio.com, plays these and many other New Jersey based artists on our internet radio station, so please check us out. #SupportGoodMusic - If you like any of the above artists, please purchase their music from their site. Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...4/18/24

"I tell everyone that I'm the last surviving original member of my band, however I had a 50/50 chance where some other guys didn't," laughed John Ford Coley as he reflected upon his former partnership with the late England Dan, current bands with no original members, his very loyal fan base and his fellow mellow rockers as they get ready to bring "Rock The Dock" to Englewood, NJ for a night of some of the greatest adult contemporary and easy listening tunes ever created.
