Makin Waves Song of the Week: "Too Many Tabs Open" by Jason Didner

The Makin Waves Song of the Week, Jason Didner’s latest video for “Too Many Tabs Open” coincides with the release of his new LP, “Digital Carnival.”

Multi-instrumentalists, such as Xavier Rudd, Garth Hudson and Stevie Wonder, fascinate me. So does  Jason Didner, who showcases his multi-hyphenated talent in the new video for his funny but meaningful song, "Too Many Tabs Open,” the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

The track is one of 12 that can be heard on his just-dropped album “Digital Carnival.”

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Too Many Tabs Open” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on April 19 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and Mixcloud.

"Our always-on wired world has had some unintended consequences,” Jason said. “It's fed into our perceived need to multitask, which the human brain doesn't actually do. We can fake it, but that can only hold up for so long. Ultimately, I too often feel distracted and overwhelmed. I wrote this song to express how I feel and perhaps remind myself and the listening public to take a breath, take a step back, close some of those mental browser tabs."

Throughout his new concept album, Jason satirizes society’s relationship with technology.

He’ll celebrate the release on May 3 with a virtual album launch concert on Live Streamer Cafe. The concert begins at 7:30pm and can be accessed here. Admission is free.

A live album launch concert will be May 17 with his band, Jason Didner and the Drive, at The Porchistas' Home Studio in Montclair. Foggy Otis will open the show. Tickets are $10 and available for purchase online.
