originally published: 07/18/2024

(TEANECK, NJ) -- Andrea Wolper, a notable figure in the New York jazz scene, is set to grace the stage at the Puffin Cultural Forum on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 7:00pm. Known for headlining at esteemed venues such as the Blue Note, Dizzy's Club, and Birdland, Andrea Wolper has also previously served as President of International Women in Jazz, and served on the Advisory Board of the Jazz Vocal Coalition.

Her versatile performance career spans not only solo projects but also collaborations with a diverse array of jazz luminaries, from vocal innovator Jay Clayton to free jazz icon William Parker, and the traditional sounds of the Heavenly Big Band. Andrea’s contributions to the genre have earned her a place in Scott Yanow’s authoritative guide, "The Jazz Singers: The Ultimate Guide" (Backbeat Books), where she is noted as “a terrific arranger” and praised for her “easily superior” songwriting.

Currently promoting her latest album, "Wanderlust" (Moonflower Music 2024), Andrea Wolper continues to captivate audiences and critics alike. The album, her fourth as a leader, is already making waves on the jazz radio charts, described by reviewers as “magnificent,” “truly exceptional,” and a strong contender for year-end accolades. Andrea’s voice has been celebrated as “exquisitely masterful,” capable of bringing songs to life with her unique musical storytelling.

Accompanying Andrea Wolper at the Puffin Cultural Forum will be the accomplished Nicki Adams on piano and the versatile Ken Filiano on bass. Both musicians are esteemed collaborators who bring depth and creativity to Andrea’s performances.

Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of jazz as the Andrea Wolper Trio takes you on a musical journey at the Puffin Cultural Forum. $10.00 suggested donation. Advance ticket purchase recommended.
