Billy Idol was one of the biggest rock stars in the world in the 1980s. The English artist was the lead singer of Generation X in the 1970s and released his first solo album in 1982. That album had the hits "Dancing With Myself", "Hot In The City", and "White Wedding". All three became giant MTV hits.
He became even bigger with the release "Rebel Yell" in 1983. This was one of the defining albums of the early days of MTV. In fact, it's hard for me to hear these songs and not remember the iconic videos.
Favorites from this album include "Rebel Yell", "Eyes Without A Face", "Catch My Fall", and "Flesh For Fantasy".
The Makin Waves Song of the Week is "Blessing," the first single from Jersey Shore songstress Brielle Brown's forthcoming full-length debut album, "In Art & Soil the Same."
