The event features artist Gina Hernandez, who as a Catrina is known as Dulzura Eterna, started her journey in 2022 out of pure curiosity for Día de los Muertos and its beautiful way of celebrating life instead of mourning death. Now, 5 years later, she’s collaborated with amazing people, attended unforgettable events, and gained significant recognition for her artistry. Every dress and headpiece Dulzura Eterna wears is handmade, hand-painted, hand-sewn, and inspired by ideas Gina nurtures throughout the year.
Join artist Gina Hernandez for Monmouth Arts and Red Bank Borough’s Dia de Muertos Calavera makeup workshop prior to the celebration! Register for the workshop here.
This is made possible in part through the Mid Atlantic Folk and Traditional Arts – Community Projects program of Mid Atlantic Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
