Author Katherine Rodriguez presents The Tree Within at Brown Sugar Café

Published by New Jersey Stage

originally published: 10/26/2026

(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Local author Katherine Rodriguez is inviting readers to The Tree Within — An Intimate Author Gathering, a public author reading, conversation and book signing on November 4, 2026 at Brown Sugar Café in Warren. The event begins at 6:30pm.

Rodriguez, originally from the Dominican Republic, wrote The Tree Within: A Journey Home, a debut reflective nonfiction book inspired by the trees, roots and shifting seasons she observed around her community. The book reflects on recovery, belonging, family, resilience and the quiet moments that help people reconnect with themselves.

The event combines the spoken word, live saxophone, conversation with readers, light café refreshments and signed books.

Admission is $35 and includes a signed book and light refreshments. A $15 companion admission without a book is available with a $35 book-inclusive admission. Tickets are available for purchase online. Brown Sugar Café is located at 177 Washington Valley Road in Warren, New Jersey.

Born in the Dominican Republic and now at home in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Katherine Rodriguez is a writer, a mother, and a lifelong observer of people and patterns. After years of planning beautiful moments through HRS Event Design, she began making room to notice her own.

The Tree Within grew from a quieter season of reflection and rebuilding. New Jersey’s changing seasons taught her to notice the life she had been hurrying past.

Her hope is that somewhere in her pages, you recognize a piece of your own story—and remember that you are still growing.
