(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Speranza Theatre Company presents Petticoat Patriots by Jennie Contuzzi at the Museum of Jersey City History from November 5-7, 2026. In September 1780, Jane Tuers crossed the Hudson River to sell eggs and vegetables in British occupied New York. She returned with something far more dangerous: a warning about Benedict Arnold's plot to surrender West Point.
As Jane decides whether to carry the news to her brother, a curious young neighbor dreams of heroism and the girl’s mother fears what speaking up could cost them all. Petticoat Patriots explores the courage of ordinary women whose choices helped shape the American Revolution.
The production is directed by Mikaela Kafka.
Performances take place Thursday, November 5 at 7:00pm; Friday, November 6 at 7:00pm; Saturday, November 7 at 7:00pm; and Sunday, November 8 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $15 and available for purchase online. The Museum of Jersey City History is located at 298 Academy Street in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Speranza Theatre Company is a nonprofit women's theatre company and a member of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance. Founded to provide opportunities for artists, particularly females, to share their voices through entertaining and challenging theatre, Speranza presents professional theatrical performances, free readings of new works, and educational programming.
