(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Wellmont Theater presents Switchfoot on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 8:00pm. The band has spent nearly three decades cementing their place as one of alternative rock's most enduring and impactful acts. Anberlin will open the night.
With over 10 million albums sold, including their 3x Platinum breakthrough The Beautiful Letdown and GRAMMY Award-winning Hello Hurricane, the beloved band has built a global following through emotionally resonant songwriting and electrifying live performances, selling more than five million tickets across 40+ countries.
With a renewed focus on the present moment, the band delivered their first record in five years, Forever Now – their fourteenth studio album, on June 26. A bold, guitar-driven return to their classic sound, the project serves as their most thematic and narrative-driven work to date, centering on the emotional roller coaster of a person’s final day on Earth. Produced by longtime collaborator Mike Elizondo, Forever Now captures the band’s rekindled love of “big guitars, big hooks and big themes,” while pushing their storytelling to new heights.

Switchfoot has always called themselves a band of brothers – Jon Foreman (vocals/guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Boaz Roberts (guitar), Jerome Fontamillas (keys/guitar) and Chad Butler (drums).
Beyond the music, Switchfoot continues to make a meaningful impact through their Bro-Am Foundation, which has raised over $3 million over the past 20 years to support at-risk youth in the band’s hometown of San Diego.
Openers Anberlin will release their ninth studio album, Currency, on November 11th. It's the first full album to include Matty Mullins who replaced Stephen Christian as lead vocalist. Anberlin formed in 2002 and includes Christian McAlhaney (guitar and vocals), Joseph Milligan (guitar), Deon Rexroat (bass), and Nathan Young (drums).
James Maddock’s status as a fixture on the Folk and Americana scene is confirmed with every listen of any song in his prodigious catalog. Relix Magazine put it this way: “James Maddock possesses the kind of lived-in craggy voice that would sound authoritative if he were singing the sports pages. Fortunately, he doesn't need to do that because his compositional skills are a match for his delivery."
Suzanne Vega will perform a career-spanning show including favorites like “Tom’s Diner”, “Luka”, “Marlene On The Wall”, and many more, plus songs from her latest album, Flying with Angels, which was released in May 2025 to critical acclaim. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs will present an extraordinary evening of music featuring singer-songwriter and guitarist Richard Thompson with Zara Phillips on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at the First Congregational Church in Montclair. The special concert will serve as a fundraiser in support of Toni's Kitchen, the Montclair based nonprofit dedicated to combating food insecurity and related challenges in Essex County and beyond. Showtime is 8:00pm.
Fred Tackett and Scott Sharrard are stepping out from the electric swamp boogie of Little Feat and hitting the road with a couple acoustic guitars, along with some great songs and stories. They’ll be pulling material from Little Feat, their own songwriting catalogues, and their own history that include stints with everyone from Bob Dylan to The Gregg Allman Band.
