(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Friends and Foundation of Princeton Public Library Annual Book Sale will take place October 9-11, 2026 in the Community Room. One of the top used book sales in the region, this year's sale includes thousands of gently used books in a broad range of categories for readers of all ages and interests. Most books are priced at $4 and below, with some higher priced categories including art books, rare and collectible items.
The event opens with a Preview Sale on Friday, October 9 from 9:00am to noon. Numbered tickets will be available at the door starting at 8:00am. The first 40 tickets for the Preview Sale will be $25 per person, and the next tickets will be $5 per person. Customers enter the sale in numerical order, and the number in the room will be limited to 40 customers throughout the Preview Sale. Barcode scanners will be permitted at the tables, but collecting books to scan will not be allowed. Prices are non-negotiable. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.
Starting at noon, admission to the book sale is free for the remainder of the sale. Hours are Friday from noon-4:30pm, Saturday from 9:00am to 4:30pm and Sunday from noon-4:30pm. On the last day of the sale, Sunday, everything will be sold at half price.
This year’s sale is dedicated to the memory of Helen G. Neuburg, better known as “Greenie.” Greenie volunteered for the Friends of Princeton Public Library for many years and was passionate about getting our donated children’s books into the hands of young readers. She passed away in August and is greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
The sale will feature an excellent selection of literary classics, fiction, mysteries, art, history, biographies, science, mathematics, sociology, psychology and anthropology as well as children’s books and many other genres.
