(BRIDGEWATER, NJ) -- Open Door Arts Center presents its fall production, The Night I Died at the Palace Theatre, at the PeopleCare Center Auditorium (120 Finderne Ave) in Bridgewater. Can you figure out whodunnit? Performances will be held October 16–18 and October 23–25, 2026, with Friday and Saturday shows at 8:00pm and Sunday shows at 2:00pm.
When asked why he chose this particular play for the fall production, Director Michael Schuller says “I look for scripts that I find interesting, particularly comedies, and I look at them through the lens of whether they are feasible to do at our theatre and within our budget, as well as whether the cast will have fun performing the roles. When I read scripts, I ask myself, ‘Can I see the finished play in my mind’s eye?’”
When asked what he hopes the audience takes away from The Night I Died at the Palace Theatre, Schuller says, “I hope the audience walks away having enjoyed the show, had a good laugh, and that the resolution of the ending of the mystery makes their journey worthwhile.”

Christopher Rollings, SAG-AFTRA/AEA, ODAC’s Artistic Director, adds, “This production presents a lively 12-person ensemble cast who perform a wonderful comedy/mystery with plenty of laughs and a delightful plot twist.”
The talented cast includes Tracy Kathleen and Bruce Perhach of Manville; Carolyn Levine and Louis Sapirman of Hillsborough; Allison Schaechter and Zoia Tariq of North Brunswick; Gilbert Gray, Richard Siegel and Kathi Troy of East Brunswick; Denise Hickson of High Bridge and Walter Maze of Flemington.
