(VINELAND, NJ) -- Cumberland Players presents A Year with Frog and Toad Kids Version from October 15-18, 2026. The treasured characters from the children’s books and the beautiful Broadway musical hop from page to stage in this story of friendship and adventure.
Adapted from the three-time-Tony-nominated Broadway hit comes A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS. Based on Arnold Lobel's well-loved books, the jazzy, upbeat score bubbles with melody. Part vaudeville, part make-believe, and all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS tells the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons.
This whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog, and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. Throughout the year, two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special.
Performances take place Thursday, October 15 at 7:00pm; Friday, October 16 at 7:00pm; Saturday, October 17 at 1:30pm & 5:00pm; and Sunday, October 18 at 1:30pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 66 East Sherman Avenue in Vineland, New Jersey.
Cumberland Players, founded in 1946 in Vineland, New Jersey, is the longest continuously operating community theatre organization in southern New Jersey. Originally known as The Little Theatre of Vineland, the company began as a small volunteer theatre group formed by residents who believed that live theatre should be created by the community and accessible to everyone.
Since bringing home the Gold and Silver medals at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Laurie Hernandez has gone on to win the coveted Mirror Ball trophy on “Dancing with the Stars” Season 23 and her first book titled “I Got This: To Gold and Beyond” chronicling her journey thus far was published in 2017, hitting the New York Times Best Sellers list. In 2018, she released a children’s picture book “She’s Got This,” also a New York Times Best Seller, while serving as a Literary Champion to promote readership as a path to leadership, and Mattel created Laurie Hernandez “Shero” Barbie to honor her.
