(LEONIA NJ) -- The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, have announced their 2026-2027 Season. They have performances scheduled for October, January, and April at the Presbyterian Church in Leonia.
Society members Theresa Norris, flute, Chris Cullen, clarinet, Janey Choi, violin, Daryl Goldberg, cello and Beth Robin, piano will present the first of a three concert series on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 3:00pm. This “Schubert Fest!” concert includes two audience favorites by Franz Schubert.
Guest artist American soprano Melissa Fogarty will sing ”The Shepherd on the Rock", D. 965, a Lied for Soprano, Clarinet, and Piano , and also sing the popular art song “Die Forelle” as heard in the Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 (Forellenquintett for Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello and Double bass).
In addition, guest artists Junah Chung, viola and Deb Spohnheimer, bass will join the chamber musicians for a complete performance of the “Trout” Quintet. Also on the program is the eloquent and recently composed Trio No. 2 by Edgar F. Girtain IV, for Flute, Violin and Cello.
Admission is free for all concerts. A donation of $25 at the door is suggested.
The second concert of the series will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2027 at 3:00pm. “A Hearty Stew for Winter” will feature Brahms Piano Quartet in c minor Op. 60 for Piano,Violin,Viola and Cello, 8 Pieces for Clarinet, Viola and Piano, Op.83 by Max Bruch, and a world premiere by Leonia composer Duncan Patton, commissioned by the ensemble for Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Cello and Piano.

The final concert of the season will be on Sunday, April 25, 2027 at 3:00pm. “Spring Beauty” will include the Lullaby and Doina by Osvaldo Golijov for Flute, Clarinet in A, Two Violins, Viola, and Cello, the Amy Beach Theme and Variations for Flute and String Quartet, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart String Quartet Op. 575 in D Major for Two Violins, Viola and Cello.
The Presbyterian Church is located at 181 Fort Lee Road in Leonia, New Jersey.
